Theory of Change

  • If Black residents of Chicago’s South Side are equipped with the training, certification, and support needed to enter the lead abatement industry,

  • Then they will gain access to living-wage jobs that both strengthen family stability and address the critical shortage of qualified abatement workers,

  • So communities most harmed by lead hazards will be the ones leading the reduction, creating safe homes, healthy children, and thriving neighborhoods, while transforming public health, breaking cycles of poverty and environmental injustice creating economic opportunity for generations to come.
